PrivateFly’s new Q2 insights report reflects its growing global footprint

- Latest report from PrivateFly reveals its top destinations worldwide were New York City, Washington DC & Nice Cote d’Azur between April and June.

- The most-chartered aircraft was the Nextant 400XTi, following its ‘City Pairs’ fixed price launch in Europe.

PrivateFly’s growing client base on both sides of the Atlantic is demonstrated by the company’s latest quarterly insights report, with New York City now at the top of its most flown destinations.

The company, part of Directional Aviation, has just published its Private Jet Charter Trends report for Q2 2019, the results of which now reflect its doubled size and greater global presence, after sister company Skyjet was integrated with PrivateFly earlier in the year.

The report looks back at PrivateFly’s flight activity and customer behaviour for the period between April and June, and key findings include the following:

  • PrivateFly’s top destination worldwide was New York City, followed by Washington DC. The significance of the northeast US was also apparent in the company’s top global route pair of New York City and Boston.
  • In Europe, Nice Cote d’Azur was at number one (and third worldwide), with the Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix pushing the region above London and Paris. Madrid was higher than usual at number five, thanks to flights to the Champions League Final.
  • The Nextant 400XTi was PrivateFly’s most-chartered aircraft model in Q2 for the first time, with the company’s ‘City Pairs’ fixed pricing offer driving strong demand in Europe. This is backed by industry figures for June, with the aircraft now in Europe’s top three fastest-growing charter aircraft types year-on-year.
  • The report also reveals strong demand for larger aircraft, with long range and super-midsize jets used for 32% of PrivateFly’s charters (versus 17% in 2018).

Adam Twidell, CEO of PrivateFly comments: “Our new report reflects a bigger and more global PrivateFly, with a strong and growing footing in both Europe and the US. Becoming a larger entity is bringing many benefits to us as a business and allowing us to innovate and enhance our offering to clients, operators and partners. The rapid rise of the Nextant 400XTi in Europe demonstrates this, following the success of our City Pairs launch in Europe this year.”
