Karaganda Airport History

Karaganda Airport originally opened in 1934, however was subsequently moved to the current location 10 years later.

In 1980, the airport began modernisation works including a newterminal building and upgraded runway to enable the airport to accept almost any aircraft and in 1992 the airport was given international status.
