KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HISTORY
Key West's aviation history began in 1913 with an inaugural flight to Cuba. In 1928 PanAm began scheduled flights from Key West. It was then used during World War I and II. In 1953 the airport officially became Key West International Airport.
In 2017 the airport received a grant of $6.5M to expand its runway project to allow bigger aircraft to land.
